Virtual and In-Person Webinars and Training

Virtual opportunities include webinars and other scheduled events delivered live online or at an advertised location. Participants must be available to attend at the scheduled time or location. Webinars are delivered using online platforms, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Recordings may be available for webinars, but not for virtual workshops.

On-Demand Training

Courses and workshops delivered through Tourism Saskatchewan's online Learning Management System (LMS) are available at all times. Most courses can be completed online using a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, smartphone or other mobile device.

 

Training through the LMS provides permanent access to a personal training plan that allows learners to view all their in-progress and completed training, including any knowledge check (exam) results, certificates of completion and other credentials.

Organizing Special Events

Saskatchewan Ambassador is a free online course that prepares volunteers and event staff to represent their communities and the province with pride. Through two short modules, participants gain the skills and confidence to enhance visitor experiences and promote local tourism.

Introduction to Storytelling

Introduction to Storytelling is a one-hour online course that teaches the basics of creating compelling tourism stories. Ideal for guides and hospitality professionals, it covers key storytelling elements, cultural respect and how to craft unique narratives for travel experiences.

Supervisor

Supervisor is an online course designed for those working in the Canadian tourism sector who want to build leadership skills and grow their careers. Based on national standards, it includes 17 modules covering communication, team management, DEI, operations and service excellence.

Event Management

Event Management is an online course that builds the skills needed to plan and manage successful events in the Canadian tourism sector. Based on national standards, it includes nine modules covering everything from market research and event design to team coordination and risk management.

 

Job Required

Serve it Right Saskatchewan (SIRS)

Serve It Right Saskatchewan is the mandatory online training for anyone who sells or serves alcohol in the province, ensuring staff meet legal requirements and protect both guests and employers. It teaches participants to identify intoxication, handle minors and safely refuse or discontinue service while understanding their legal responsibilities.

CannaSell SK Responsible Cannabis Sales

CannaSell SK is the mandatory training program for anyone involved in selling or promoting cannabis in permitted retail locations across Saskatchewan. It covers legal responsibilities, product knowledge and safe sales practices to ensure staff comply with provincial regulations and support responsible cannabis use.

Responsible Gaming for VLT Site Operators

Responsible Gaming for VLT Site Operators is a free online course for owners and staff working with video lottery terminals in Saskatchewan. It teaches how to recognize problem gambling, promote responsible play and provide support resources to help reduce gambling-related harm.

PRO Clean

Work-Readiness Credential:

The Emerit Work-Readiness Credential is a nationally recognized certification for tourism professionals in Canada. It involves completing workplace essentials training, one occupation-specific course, and two exams, leading to a certificate, digital badge, and professional designation.
