Why Tourism Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission offer this program
Employing Journeypersons improves business.
Journeypersons are highly trained and qualified. They bring a wealth of in-depth knowledge and skills to a business. They are capable of taking on a range of responsibilities, such as supervisor, workplace mentor or job coach.
Employers can be assured of increased service quality, enhanced customer satisfaction and a distinct advantage over competitors who do not employ journeypersons.
Employers report increased productivity and quality, improved workplace safety, reduced staff turnover, and higher customer satisfaction.
In Saskatchewan, tourism trades do not require apprentices to leave the workplace for extended formal classroom training. Most training takes place on the job.
