Learn more >>Shawna Nelson
Shawna Nelson is the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sheraton Cavalier Saskatoon Hotel and The James Hotel Saskatoon. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Saskatchewan and has over 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the hotel and hospitality Industry.
Nelson is a strong advocate for supporting and championing local business. She served on the board of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, was Past Chair of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, and represented Saskatchewan on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce board. She is a proud community member and promoter of Saskatchewan as the place to host events, and conferences, or simply visit.
Currently, she fulfils a number of board and volunteer roles, including: Chair of the Saskatoon Destination Marketing Hotels Inc, Past-Chair of the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, member of the Workers Compensation Act – Committee of Review, and host of Shaken with a Twist networking/interview event by Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan.
Nelson received the 2012 Presidents’ Award from the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, 2016 Athena Leadership Award from the Business and Professional Women of Saskatoon, and 2016 Member of the Year from the North Saskatoon Business Association.
She enjoys relaxing at the family cabin at Candle Lake, playing a round of golf and mom/daughter moments.
