Shawna Nelson is a seasoned executive and respected community leader with more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality, hotel and tourism sectors. She has held senior roles with major hotel brands, specializing in sales and marketing strategy, business development, revenue generation, customer experience design and large‑scale event management.

Known for her ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across business, indigenous, government and education communities, Shawna is widely recognized as a connector and trusted advocate for Saskatchewan’s tourism and business ecosystem.

She has served on the boards of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce – where she is a Past Chair – and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival and Saskatoon Destination Marketing Hotels Inc.

Shawna currently serves as Executive Director of the Downtown Saskatoon Business Improvement District, where she leads strategic advocacy, business engagement and downtown vibrancy initiatives.
