Tourism Saskatchewan is the provincial partner for delivery of Tourism HR Canada’s products and services in the province, including Emerit training and certification programs.
Emerit training and certifications are based on National Occupational Standards (NOS) and reflect the most current skills, knowledge, and practices required to ensure Canada’s tourism workforce remains a competitive world leader.
An all-new Emerit online learning platform and a suite of updated programming was launched on June 3, 2024. Businesses and employees can access the new suite of Emerit training courses on Tourism Saskatchewan’s Learning Management Platform.
Currently available courses include Workplace Essentials, Front Desk Agent, Housekeeping Room Attendant, Line Cook & Supervisor.
Tourism Work Readiness Credential
As the tourism and hospitality industry in Saskatchewan grows, so does the need for employees with the knowledge, skills and abilities to fill current and projected job vacancies.
Individuals or businesses interested in industry-specific foundational training can earn an Emerit Work-Readiness Credential. The Work Readiness Credential consists of two training components and two exams.

Pilot Project
Tourism Saskatchewan is also partnering with select settlement and employment organizations across the province to offer tourism specific Work Readiness Credentials to their clients through Emerit.
